In fact, as of 2018, there were already more than 759,000 franchise establishments in the United States. Ready for some more crazy numbers? At the time, those establishments output more than $760 billion and employed more than 8 million people.

While the COVID-19 pandemic and associated shutdowns have fluctuated that number, it will rise again. Franchises will solidify, and they will largely be responsible for helping the United States regain its footing, employment-wise.

Of that, I have no doubt!

Women Have a Significant Role

We just talked about some impressive numbers, but there are also some fascinating numbers related to the role of women in franchising.

Research released in May 2019 found that women owned or co-owned 35% of franchises in the United States! Even more impressive? That represents almost a 25% increase from a decade ago.

Now’s the time to jump in and get a piece of the pie!

COVID-19 Allows Time for a Reset

I touched on this a bit above, but let’s hone in on it a little more. Obviously, no facet of our nation was untouched by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We all faced it in some way, shape or form. As we begin to emerge on the other side of the pandemic, it should be noted that one positive side of the “new normal” is the opportunities it provides to franchises and franchisees.

We’re all finding our way forward. And it’s going to give franchises an opportunity to set themselves apart from competitors in new and unique ways. It’s a brave new world out there, and we’re just getting started!
