WHAT THE HECK IS A FRANCHISE CONSULTANT?
Dr. Darryl Swift, a Certified Franchise Consultant with FranServe, Inc., made a phenomenal parallel recently in a social media post. Dr. Swift wrote that the teaching profession and franchising are very similar. Here’s what Dr. Swift wrote, “Educators do more than teach. They plan, motivate, adapt, and inspire. Franchising is similar, whereas franchisees plan their day with ready-made curriculum, provide a meaningful impact on the community, provide flexible scheduling and provide clear operational support.
Franchisors have a plan. They teach that plan to their franchisees. The franchisee takes their passion to the community in which they serve to inspire others. No day is the same as an educator nor is any day the same as a franchisee. Teachers have other teachers to lean on for guidance and support. Similarly, franchisees have other franchisees to lean on for guidance and support.
As for teachers, franchising can provide an excellent business model in areas such as tutoring, enrichment programs, coding for kids, STEM education, and even children’s fitness programs all need what teachers already have: passion, structure, communication, and purpose.
Franchise consulting can be a fun and gratifying business for those who have a desire to help others achieve business ownership through franchising.
