WHAT THE HECK IS A FRANCHISE CONSULTANT?
Most franchise investors utilize financing to invest in a franchise opportunity. However, securing funding involves much more than having good credit and sufficient collateral.
As Certified Franchise Consultant (CFC) Jeff Pressman explained: “Does the structure leave enough room for working capital, normal mistakes, slower traction, and a personal life that doesn’t become oddly tense every time the calendar turns? That is the real test. A funding plan should support the business through ordinary friction, not just through a polished projection. If the structure only feels good in a clean scenario, it probably isn’t strong enough.”
Jeff goes on to say: “The goal is not to barely close. The goal is to close and still be able to operate like a rational person afterward.”
These insights highlight one of the most overlooked aspects of franchise ownership: financial sustainability. The right funding strategy isn’t simply about getting approved – it’s about ensuring your business has the resources to weather the inevitable challenges of the early years while maintaining your quality of life.
A strong franchise investment begins with a strong financial foundation.
