Recently, I received emails from excited entrepreneurs who are hesitant and unsure about getting started. Robbie asked if now is the best time to own a franchise, Laurette asked when the best time is to buy a franchise, and Ken asked if he should get a franchise now or wait things out.
These types of questions are ones that we all ponder when a major change is being contemplated: buying a home, starting a family, investing in a business. We wonder if there’s a better time, and then we wonder if we don’t do something now, we’ll miss out.
My favorite time is “now o’clock,” and what I mean by that is not to act impulsively but to take action NOW to better your life. Absolutely you should do research, do due diligence, and speak to other franchise owners. You can also work with a Certified Franchise Consultant – at no cost – to help you in your process. The point is to take steps to move closer to your goal and have the future you want.
When we help someone own a franchise, the comment we hear most frequently is, “I wish I had done this sooner!” Studies show that regret stems more from things that we did not do versus things we did do and wish we hadn’t. Don’t be part of those statistics!
To answer Robbie, Laurette, Ken and everyone else questioning if now is a good time for franchise ownership: the answer is YES. If you’re still in doubt, just look at your watch – it’s now o’clock!
