WHAT THE HECK IS A FRANCHISE CONSULTANT?
One of the responsibilities of a Certified Franchise Consultant (CFC) is to dispel common myths in the industry. One common myth is that one needs a million dollars to invest in a franchise. While this sometimes is most certainly the case, it’s more of a myth than reality.
Kristin Odeh, CFC with FranServe, Inc. recently posted on LinkedIN, “One of the first questions people ask about franchising is cost, and most assume it’s out of reach. The reality: investment levels vary widely, and there are models designed for different budgets and lifestyles.”
Kristin went on to point out that many models require far less investment. “Some can even be run from home with lower overhead. The right fit depends on industry model and goals. The best opportunity isn’t always the biggest one.”
My favorite part of that quote from Kristin is: “The best opportunity isn’t always the biggest one.” There could not be a truer statement. I’ve seen many thrive in the franchise community with significantly less initial investment that they thought they’d have to invest. One of my favorite things about being a franchise consultant is the opportunity to dispel myths with simple and proven facts.
