Do You Have Life-Work Balance? A Three-Part Series – Part 3

Here it is! Part three of our series on life-work balance. In May, Alesia Visconti – CEO and President of FranServe, Inc. – introduced the concept of life-work balance and explained why she chooses to put life first. Then, in June, two seasoned FranServe consultants shared how this principle has impacted their lives and businesses. After receiving such a positive response, we spoke with more FranServe Affiliate Franchise Consultants to get their perspectives.

In our May article, Visconti recommended taking certain steps such as “delegating wisely” to help redefine balance. What steps have you taken and recommend that others take to gain life-work balance?

One of the most effective steps I’ve taken is setting clear, consistent working hours. This allows me to dedicate specific times to work without feeling overwhelmed and ensures I have designated hours for personal activities and relaxation. I’ve learned that this routine helps me stay focused and productive during work hours, and it also prevents burnout. I would definitely advise others to do the same.

In what ways does being a FranServe Affiliate Franchise Consultant help you achieve balance?

Being a FranServe consultant has given me an incredible gift of presence, especially when it comes to my family. With one son in college and another in high school, I am extremely aware that this chapter of my family life is moving quickly. I cherish the flexibility to schedule my work around the moments that matter most. I am grateful that FranServe equips me with the tools to run my business on the go. Whether I am attending a hockey tournament, traveling with my family or simply being available when they need me, I can still serve my candidates effectively, without sacrificing what matters most.

How would your life be different if you didn’t have life-work balance as a core value in your business?

I have always been a workaholic by nature – driven, persistent and known for my stamina to see things through. Former bosses have often praised my ability to push forward and get the job done, no matter the challenge, but stepping away from the pressures of the corporate world has given me the life-work balance I have always wanted. Also, as a breast cancer survivor, I have gained a deeper perspective. That experience taught me to be intentional about how I spend my time and energy and to prioritize what truly matters. I am grateful to have a career that aligns with both my passion and my purpose without sacrificing my health or family.

Our lives would look very different without a strong commitment to life-work balance. A disciplined approach to putting in eight focused hours each day is essential to our success. Equally important is the discipline of rest – making time for relaxation, connection, spiritual growth and recreation. We believe you must work to earn the right to play to fully appreciate the privilege of work.

As this series comes to a close, we hope that these stories serve as a reminder that life-work balance is possible – and powerful. It begins with just one intentional step toward the life you not only desire but deserve.
